This class will have 2 parts. The 1st part will provide basic air compressor theory that’s relevant to Quincy Compressors including a basic understanding of what a reciprocating or rotary compressor is, how they operate, and why we need compressed air. We will make sure to cover every reciprocating or rotary compressor type in our catalog.  The 2nd part to this class will revolve all around Parts. The goal is to teach the attendee about the various parts used on our compressors. Such as their function, terminologies, and importance to the compressor. The attendee will also get a better understanding of their different terminologies, how to look them up to get quoted, the importance of maintenance, and using OEM. Overall, attendees will walk out of this class with a better understanding of compressor theory, operation, and the various compressor products we offer. In addition to understanding the various parts of a compressor and how to look them up for purchasing.

This class will cover the entire range of Quincy Compressor’s Vacuum product offering. It will include an introduction with theory and principles related to vacuum. We will introduce the expanded range of products that Quincy Compressor has to offer. We will cover our Oil Flooded Screw Vacuum pumps along with the Claw, Rotary Vane, and Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps. We will discuss the proper installation and maintenance that pertain to our vacuum products. We will also present the different controllers associated with the vacuums. More

This class is designed to make the technician familiar with Quincy Compressor’s line of controllers and how to use the programs and features of each. We will learn about how and where to find the programs and databases. We will have exercises on programming the different controllers using Speci5 as well as running basic ECOi networks. We will discuss program modifications using Modi5. We will discuss our retrofit strategy from our older controls to the newest family of controls so that they can seamlessly integrate and communicate with each other.

The Quincy Compressor central controls course will cover the principles of central control, installation of the various components related to central controls, and troubleshooting central control environments. Technology discussed will include the built-in ECOi software, the ECOntrol+ standalone controller, Competitor Interfaces, and the CAN to Modbus MK5 Gateway.

This class is designed for the tech moving into the refrigeration field of the compressed air system. In this class, you will learn refrigeration theory, and refrigeration system operation and troubleshooting. You must complete all class objectives and pass all required tests to pass the class. You will also have the opportunity to obtain your EPA 608 certification, which is required to work on a refrigerant system. The EPA test is broken into 4 sections: Core, Type1, Type 2, Type 3, and Type 4. For Quincy refrigerant dryers you will need to Core and type 2, or universal technician (Pass all 4). You must pass Core to obtain certification of any type. You will need to study outside of class time to pass the EPA 608 Exam. You will need your laptop, safety shoes and safety glasses. More

This class provides general maintenance and technical information on Quincy Compressors oil-injected/oil-flooded product range, including reciprocating and rotary. This class starts off with introductions and safety. Followed by reciprocating theory, operation, description of basic electrical and mechanical components found in reciprocating compressors. We finish off reciprocating by introducing our complete reciprocating product range and some hands-on training. Reciprocating is followed by rotary compressor theory, operation, description of basic electrical and mechanical components found in the oil-flooded type. 
This class will have a brief control’s section for commissioning/startup purposes ONLY. This also provides attendees with a better understanding of the control options Quincy offers on its units. We finish off the week by providing general knowledge in operating, commissioning (startup/warranty), maintaining (service), and troubleshooting on all oil-flooded rotary Quincy Compressors.

Purpose: This Class is designed to familiarize the student with the design, construction, working principles, and function of Quincy Desiccant Dryers. Specifically, how each series of dryer works differently than others, several calculations, and their results are used to determine proper and efficient operation. 
 
Format: This class will use a combination of instructor-led classroom training presentations, hands on inspection of smaller training aids (components, sensors, cutaways, etc.) and training machines. 
 
Objectives: The following KSA’s have been established for this Class – 
 
1. Understand (refresh) safety requirements, including PPE, procedures, Customer communication, etc. related to servicing desiccant dryers in the shop or onsite. 
2. Identify special tools, PPE, or procedures unique to this machine and to the Technician. 
3. Identify the intended purpose of a desiccant dryer, including increased efficiency (reduced cost of operation) reliability, and proper operation of desiccant dryers. 
4. Identify components and component function on each series of dryer. 
5. Installation and commissioning of the dryer. 
6. Perform periodic (preventative) maintenance on the dryer. 
7. Identify common maintenance activities on the dryer. 
8. Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of the dryer. 
 
Methods: The methods and metrics listed below are used in this Class – 
1. Class size is limited to 20. 
2. Classroom material will be presented using PowerPoint presentation(s) 
3. Related cutaways and small components. 
4. This Class will rely on a significant amount of hands-on training onsite 
5. Daily and end-of-class quizzes/tests. 
 
Other: Please bring your laptop and related cables (related to this Class/Product) with you. Please ensure the laptop is problem free, and ready to use. Please check with your IT Department and resolve any issues before coming to class.

Must have completed Basic Controls, Advanced Controls, or the 2024 Controls Class in order to register for VFD.

This course is a technical introduction to the variable frequency drives that Quincy Compressor utilizes in our variable speed units, both currently and within the recent past. The content of this course is centered around obtaining a practical understanding of drive components and operation. The main objective is to better our technical understanding to aid in troubleshooting faults, interpreting failures, resolving issues, and restoring operation in a timely manner. We will cover the Siemens G-120, Schneider Electric, Danfoss VLT/Automation, ABB ACS, and Atlas Copco NEOS QFD drives for the QGSV, QGDV, QGV, QOFTv, QOFv, and QPVS lines.
